Although it is absurd to see developmental milestones shared on social media, particularly milestones that an individual may not even be aware of, the presence of social media to people in every phase of life makes the internet like a scrapbook comprised of an individual’s developmental milestones over their lifetime. From parents sharing all of their child’s milestones online, to social media users detailing the trials and tribulations of life as they grow and development, the the use of the internet as a place to create a memorial of a lost loved one, areas of social media closely resemble a scrapbook that contains the details of every event of one’s life, including emotional, intellectual, and social growth, development, and change.
